Salesian Leadership Camp (SLC) is a vibrant expression of our shared Salesian connection, held each summer in Brooklyn, Michigan, and sponsored by the Oblates of St. Francis de Sales. Inspired in the late 1980s by the collaboration of an Oblate priest and a Visitation Sister, SLC blends the heart of Salesian virtues with practical, hands-on leadership skills. Its leadership philosophy is rooted in self-confidence, global awareness, prayer, respect, communication, and joyful service to God.
Each year, more than 40 students from eight Visitation and Salesian-affiliated schools gather for this immersive week. They are guided by a dedicated team of Oblate Sisters, Oblates of St. Francis de Sales, lay partners, and educators steeped in leadership formation and Salesian spirituality—all committed to creating an atmosphere of learning, community, and joy. Students return energized and equipped with fresh ideas, ready to lead with purpose in their schools, parishes, and daily lives.
